The new terminal was realized by Budapest Airport Zrt. as part of its major airport development project. The building will offer 12 (6+6 on each side with one dedicated priority lane/crew screening at each side) new passenger security screening channels, 12 (8 for departure, 4 for transfer) new border crossing points, 5 new boarding bus gates in addition to the existing 10 jetties and 11 bus gates, 54 check-in counters and 16 new self-check-in kiosks. Approximately 1000 people worked in three shifts under the contractor’s direction, to ensure that shops and service premises can be handed over to the tenants on time. The scale of the project is illustrated by the fact that, in accordance with initial calculations, the SkyCourt itself cost 70 million EUR, and the entire project together with the related works cost a total of 102 million EUR, Budapest Airport will hold the official opening ceremony of the SkyCourt on 18 May 2011. The public will have an opportunity to visit the new terminal on 19 and 20 March, before the building will be opened to passenger traffic. As of 27 March 2011 MALÉV, the Hungarian Airlines will provide its customers with the most attractive and spacious business lounge in the SkyCourt terminal at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport.
